Birth flowers are one of the most requested ideas in illustrative work, and for good reason: each month has a flower, and each flower can stand for a person.

Winter

January is the carnation, February the violet, December the narcissus.

Spring

March brings daffodils, April daisies and sweet peas, May lily of the valley.

Summer and autumn

June roses, July larkspur, August gladiolus, September asters, October marigolds, November chrysanthemums.

A bouquet of birth flowers is a family portrait without faces.
